Early Life and Education

Sou Fujimoto was born in Hokkaidō, Japan, in 1971. He developed a passion for architecture at an early age and pursued his studies at Tokyo University, graduating from the Department of Architecture in the Faculty of Engineering.

Establishing Sou Fujimoto Architects

After completing his education, Fujimoto founded his own architectural firm, Sou Fujimoto Architects, in Tokyo in 2000. The firm's unique and experimental designs quickly gained attention in the architectural community.
